Family records pythons' mortal combat on their back deck

Sept. 6 (UPI) -- An Australian family captured video of two males pythons battling for mating superiority on their back deck.

The video, posted to Facebook by The Snake Catcher 24/7 - Sunshine Coast, shows the two pythons smashing each other into the wooden deck repeatedly at a family's home in Peachester.

The post said the snakes were battling for the attention of a female in the area.

"I went out to relocate them but one of the males had disappeared before I arrived. What an epic battle. They fell off the deck at one stage whilst in combat," the snake catcher wrote.
