Hoda Kotb posts new photo of daughter: 'Just because'

Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Hoda Kotb kicked off her weekend by posting a new photo of her daughter.

The 52-year-old Today anchor shared an early morning picture of Haley Joy, her 5-month-old daughter with boyfriend Joel Schiffman, on Friday.

"Just because," she captioned the snapshot, which shows Kotb and Haley smiling as they pose for the camera.

Kotb followed up posting "Bra off. Hair up. Sweats on," and wishing her followers a "happy weekend." The star confessed in an interview with E! News in June she feels "guilty" when she has to leave Haley for work obligations.

"It is a little weird, I have to say," she said while attending the 2017 CMT Music Awards. "I finally sleep. I feel a little guilty for saying that."

Kotb adopted Haley in February, and will raise her daughter with Schiffman. She encouraged Haley to follow her heart and feel comfortable in her own skin in an open letter to the infant she shared on Today in June.

"Your heart: Listen to it, follow it and figure out what and who makes it beat faster," the star told her daughter. "Your skin: Strive to be comfortable in it your whole life. Your back: I've got it; always."

Kotb and Schiffman celebrated their four-year anniversary as a couple in June. The television personality marked the occasion by dedicating a sweet post to Schiffman, saying her life with him is "getting better every day."
