June 9 (UPI) -- A Pennsylvania family held a wedding ceremony for their terminally ill dog as part of their quest to fulfill the pet's "bucket list."
Mr. Molson, the 12-year-old Golden Retriever, donned a tux his family ordered online as he was wed to Josie, a black lab in a white frilly dress, before the two shared a cake made of dog treats, Inside Edition reported.
Prior to his wedding day, Mr. Molson was diagnosed with soft-tissue cancer in March and was given three months to live.
"We're trying to make every day count," Mr. Molson's owner, 36-year-old Tim Griffin said. "He's just somebody who's always been there for me."
Griffin and his two children, Chloe, 10, and Elliot, 8, devised multiple bucket list quests for their beloved pet, including taking rides in a firetruck and a police car, swimming in the ocean, eating a snake, sharing a beer with his owner and his doggie wedding.
"At first it was find him a girlfriend," Griffin said. "Then it was, why not take it to the next level have him get hitched?"
According to Griffin, Mr. Molson has remained energetic throughout his bucket list journey, despite nearing the end of his time.
"He's right on the three month mark, but he hasn't seemed to have given up yet," Griffin told ABC News. "He's very friendly...he's always the first one to walk up and say hello. Instead of dwelling on the downside of a diagnosis like this, with a bucket list, it's something to look forward to."
The Griffins still have plans to take Mr. Molson sailing, stay in a dog-friendly hotel together and let him try a Coney Island hot dog.
"It's letting us have a lot of fun with him and make some good memories before he goes," Griffin said.
