After speaking with my family I've decided that I'm foregoing my senior season. Thank you for making my college experience great! #GoWyo
Wyoming standout running back Brian Hill said he will bypass his senior season and enter the 2017 NFL draft.
Hill rushed for a school-record 1,860 yards this season and finishes his career as the Cowboys' all-time leader with 4,287 rushing yards.
Hill also rushed for a school-record 22 touchdowns this season and set the career mark of 35 scores.
"This has been a dream of mine for a while now, and through hard work and dedication that dream finally has a chance to become a reality," Hill said in a statement. "I would like to give thanks to God for none of this would be possible without Him. I would like to thank my mom for being here for me through whatever: (Wyoming head coach Craig) Bohl, (running backs coach Mike) Bath and the rest of the coaching staff for believing in me; and my teammates who are all my brothers for life -- I couldn't have chosen a better family."
Hill is rated as the 10th-best running back prospect by NFLDraftScout.com.
Hill was a big reason why the Cowboys went 8-6 this season and played in a bowl game for the first time since 2011.
"We appreciate Brian's efforts and his many contributions to our football program these past three seasons," Bohl said in a statement. "He helped us move Wyoming Football in a positive direction over his three-year career, including helping us compete for a Mountain West conference championship this past season. Along the way he accomplished many great things as a Cowboy. We wish Brian all the best as he moves forward with his career."
