Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne shared video of an alligator swimming in floodwaters behind his Florida home after Hurricane Irma.
Wayne took to Twitter on Wednesday to talk about campaigning for Edgerrin James to make the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but mere minutes later he said the campaign was on hold due to an alligator in the floodwaters behind his Florida home.
"Wait...I'm going to get it going soon as I get this alligator from behind my house #HurricaneIrma," Wayne tweeted.
A short time later he posted a video to Instagram showing the alligator swimming in floodwaters on the other side of his property fence.
"Umm...I'm pretty sure this not supposed to be behind my crib. Time to go!! #GetOut," he wrote.
Wayne has previously made light of the storm on Instagram, saying it's important to laugh during difficult times.
He posted a photo comparing downed trees in his yard to Michael Jackson's dance moves.
"Thank God we are safe. But why is every tree in my yard doing the Michael Jackson smooth criminal. Gotta find a way to laugh at this some kind of way. #gangstalean #smoothcriminal #michaeljackson #hurricaneirma #hurricane #laugh," he wrote.
